The SF meeting is quite important as ICANN is planning to finalize the new gTLD process and trademark issues are again on the agenda. As you know ICANN is meeting with GAC next month and trademarks are part of their agenda. The work of the STI on this regard is in jeopardy and I believe we need to show a very strong and united front against the trademark community which is pushing for a re-drafting of the STI recommendations. As a member of the STI, I feel that I can contribute to the process and the debate. In any case, there are also some implementation issues on the trademark front and we will need to start discussions as to how or whether we need to monitor them.
